At San Juan de la Vega, the Delegate is the only legal authority and is deeply worried about the five day Carnival that is about to begin. José is an enthusiast of detonating his homemade bombs with his gang before and during Shrove Tuesday. Saúl is an aged devotee who has led for decades San Juanito’s pilgrimage, the patron saint. Each one depicts a confronted stance of the same ancient tradition. Yet, although the inherent conflict splits them, they must work together for their saint’s will.
